Hi this is Shane. On this page you'll learn more about the team of fitness professionals at my Shaping Concepts personal training studios. They are not your typical "personal trainers." In fact, I refer to them as "fitness professionals" for a very good reason.

Shaping Concepts is committed to only employing individuals that have been certified by nationally accredited organizations or those who have received degrees in areas like athletic training, exercise science, and physiology.

Our staff members are truly unique not only in their level of education but also in their willingness to work together as a group sharing unselfishly of their knowledge and experience. The result is an unparalled group of fitness professionals who help one another in their respective areas of expertise.

Shane Doll

Shane Doll- Charleston Personal Trainer Shane is a certified personal trainer, fitness expert, author, and founder of Shaping Concepts Fitness Training Studios. He serves as company President and CEO. Shane specializes in helping people with busy lifestyles transform their bodies with his unique 30 minute personal fitness programs. His passion for fitness comes from life long athletics including NCAA Division I collegiate football at Bowling Green State University.

Shane is certified both as a personal trainer and a strength and conditioning specialist with the NSCA. He has also received certifications from NDEITA and the Cooper Institute. He has spent the last 10 years researching effective weight management and fitness routines which lead to his creation of Shaping Concepts' signature body transformation program. The success of his unique personal fitness programs has helped the company grow to three locations with over 200 active clients since 2004. Shane’s accomplishments as a fitness professional was recently recognized by Personal Fitness Professional magazine.

Mandy McDonald

Mandy McDonald- Charleston Personal Trainer Mandy is a women’s fitness and nutrition specialist along with being Vice President and co-founder of Shaping Concepts. Her friendly personality and caring attitude help make up the Shaping Concepts difference. Her true passion is helping women look and feel their absolute best. Mandy has helped Shaping Concepts become a leader in personal fitness training in the Charleston area due to her commitment to making each and every client feel appreciated and welcome to the family. She has over 15 years experience in the health and beauty industry formerly working in spas and salons. Mandy is originally from Columbia, SC where she attended the University of South Carolina.

Andrew Duffy

Andrew Duffy- Charletson Personal TrainerAndrew is a certified athletic trainer with NATA and holds a double major with a BS in Health Science and Athletic Training from Guilford College. He specializes in rehabilitation and sports performance training. Andrew has over eight years experience as an athletic trainer and seven years as a personal trainer. His experience as an athletic trainer includes a tenure with the Bridgeport Bluefish, a professional minor league baseball team in Bridgeport, Connecticut. Andrew was also a standout NCAA baseball player himself while at Guilford College.

Andrew is a dedicated professional and contributes unselfishly to the development of our organization. He is the Studio Director for our Mt. Pleasant location.

William Graham

William Graham- Charleston Personal TrainerWilliam is a certified personal trainer with the nationally accredited ACSM (American College of Sports Medicine). He is truly passionate about helping others reach their weight loss and fitness goals. William’s clients note his excellent motivational skills and caring attitude. He recently relocated here from Pittsburgh, Pa and is quickly making a name for himself in the Charleston area. William graduated with a BS in Exercise and Rehabilitative Sciences from Slippery Rock University. He has experience training clients of all ages and specializes in Corporate Wellness. A fitness enthusiast himself, William recently placed 3rd in the Men’s Novice Division at the 2006 Iron City Classic Natural Bodybuilding Classic.

Steve Lawson

Steve Lawson - Charleston Personal Trainer Steve has been a fitness enthusiast for the better part of his life. Since becoming a certified personal trainer over a decade ago Steve has enjoyed working in many different facets of the fitness industry. While in college working towards his BS in Exercise Physiology Steve had the opportunity to coach and train a broad spectrum of individuals seeking their fitness potential. Steve recently took a two year hiatus from his personal training path to explore outside interests. Leaving no rock unturned Steve could find no other calling that offered the rewards and satisfaction that personal training could. Recently Steve became a team member at Shaping Concepts and has yet to look back. Steve feels that personal training is a career that has chosen him and he wants nothing more than to spread his knowledge and passion for fitness to those who truly want to learn.

Lee Powell

Lee Powell - Charleston Personal Trainer Lee is a certified personal trainer with NESTA and holds a BA Sport and Fitness degree from Brewton Parker College in South Geogia. Originally from Wales, U.K. Lee played semi-professional soccer and was also captain of his college team here in the states. Outside of personal training Lee is a youth soccer coach and youth conditioning specialist, excelling in speed and agility. Lee has over 4 years experience as a personal trainer, training clients of all ages and abilities. Lee also is author and founder of SAQ Soccer LLC where his knowledge and passion help hundreds of athletes increase their athletic capacities. Lee believes there is an athlete inside everybody and is dedicated to help every person he comes in contact with achieve their health and fitness goals, whatever they may be.

Colleen Castiglione

Colleen Castiglione - Charleston Personal Trainer Colleen is originally from New York City. She is a retired New York City Police Sergeant. During her 20 years with NYPD she worked with her co-workers in developing personal exercise and nutrition programs. Colleen is also a former New York City High School Health and Physical Education teacher. During her five years tenure at Lehman, HS, she developed a Lifetime Fitness Program and started a "Grab and Go Breakfast and Lunch Program", along with an after school snack program. She knows how important a good diet is to improvements in academics, athletic performance, and student behavior. She also believes that children need to be introduced to different types of exercise enabling them to have more active and healthier adult lifestyles.

Colleen received her higher education at Queens College City University with studies in Health & Physical Education and Exercise Science. She also served as Adjunct Instructor and a "Wellness at Work Coordinator" with the University. Colleen has always had a passion for helping individuals improve their diet and physical health. She is comfortable working with all groups with specialties in sport specific workouts and rehabilitation exercise programs. If you work with Collen be ready for some "drilling" (accountability) from this Sergeant about your nutrition and extra cardio. Come prepared to put forth your best effort during workouts and you will see results. Colleen is also a former Queens College athlete in Softball and Field Hockey. Her recreational activities include softball, flag football, skiing, golf, cycling, hiking, camping, sailing, running, kayaking, and weight training.

Tina Whetzel

Tina Whetzel- Charleston Personal Trainer Tina is a Certified Personal Trainer with the NSCA (National Strength and Conditioning Association). She is extremely passionate about helping women meet their weight loss goals through healthy lifestyle changes and exercise that will last a lifetime. As someone who has personally experienced significant weight gain and loss in her lifetime, Tina fully understands the challenges that her clients experience. She has a unique gift of bringing a ton of positive energy, hope, and encouragement to everyone she meets. She has a firm belief from her own personal experiences that everyone can have the body they desire with the right information, a positive attitude, and a support/accountability partner.

Tina is originally from Mt. Pleasant, Pennsylvania and attended college at West Virginia Tech in Montgomery, West Virginia. As a student athlete she competed in volleyball, basketball and track and field. Tina donates a lot of her time to local charities and is very involved within the Lowcountry community. She was recently honored by being selected for the Social Award for her unselfish dedication and committment to organizations like Jr. Achievement, and the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

Chad Cannon

Chad Cannon- Bluffton Personal TrainerChad is a certified personal trainer, fitness expert, author, speaker and Studio Director at our Bluffton location. He earned his personal training certification through AFPA, The American Fitness Professionals and Associates. Chad’s specialties are in Post-Rehabilitation and Sports Performance Training. He has extensive experience as a trainer with over 15 years in the industry. He was honored in June 2004 by being named one of the top 100 personal trainers in the country by the American Association of Personal Trainers. Chad also has a decorated athletic career as a standout NCAA sprinter and long jumper at the University of Rio Grande in Ohio where he received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Exercise Physiology.

Chad became part of the Shaping Concepts team in December 2005. He is truly a fitness professional and a leader in his local community. He demonstrates a genuine caring attitude towards each and every one of his clients. Widely recognized as one of the leading fitness experts in Bluffton you will often see his articles featured in the Bluffton Today, Costal Sports & Wellness, and other local publications. Chad is very active in his community formerly serving as the Head JV Girls Basketball Coach and the Boys and Girls Track and Cross Country Coach at Bluffton High School. He has also recently started "Chad's Kid's" to help combat childhood and adolescent obesity in his community.

Alvin Polite

Alvin Polite- Bluffton Personal Trainer Alvin is a certified personal trainer with nationally accredited NASM (National Academy of Sports Medicine). He is a native of the low country area and is highly respected by constituents in the community. Eight years ago Alvin embarked on a commitment to a lifestyle change which incorporated conditioning his own body to obtain optimal health and wellness. He now wishes to extend the same desire for health and wellness out to his community. He brings integrity, compassion, and an unsurpassed work ethic to the Shaping Concepts family. Alvin is dedicated to seeing that each and every one of his clients reach their fitness goals from his philosophy that with hard work and commitment anyone can achieve his or her nutritional and fitness goals.
