Hi this is Shane, thanks for coming to check out this page to learn more about my personal training programs for Isle of Palms residents.
My private personal training studio is just minutes from your house and our time efficient, yet extremely effective, 30 minute burst training workouts are perfect if you have a busy lifestyle.
Regardless of whether you're looking to lose weight, simply tone and firm, improve your golf game, or anything in-between, we've got a staff of over 10 certified Charleston personal trainers ready to help you acheive your goals.
Why Isle Of Palms residents choose Shaping Concepts for personal training
Since starting Shaping Concepts back in 2004, we've worked with literally hundreds of Isle of Palms residents. Sure our facility is close to your home making it convenient but the reason we've become Charleston's top personal training studio is becasue we simply produce results.
You'll find we go to much greater lengths than most local fitness centers to truly personalize your fitness program and address your wants and needs.
You see it's not just about providing you with a workout. Any personal trainer can do that. Our program is different because we include things like a comprehensive kinetic chain assessment to evaluate for muscle imbalances and things like metabolism testing and my exclusive Lean-Code profile to personalize your weight loss strategy.

Factors to consider before hiring an Isle Of Palms Personal Trainer…
The thing is regardless of whether you choose to work with one of my personal trainers at Shaping Concepts or wherever you go, just please make sure you do your homework first.
Here are a few tips and questions you should ask when interviewing a personal trainer. Obviously it’s important that your trainer “practices what they preach” by being physically active themselves. But just don’t assume you’ve got a good trainer because he or she is fit.
Failing to do your research in the beginning could lead to lost time, money, and worse yet get you injured!
Where did you receive your education or personal trainer certification?
The important thing here is to look for personal training certifications that have national accreditation through the NCCA (National Commission for Certifying Agencies).
There are numerous places on-line where you can get a personal training certification, literally over the weekend, but obviously this wouldn't make someone a "fitness professional."
Is a health questionnaire, fitness assessment, and other prerequisites issued before starting your first workout?
Any true fitness professional would always take these steps before ever issuing you exercise or taking you onto the floor for your first workout.
If they don’t, this is a warning sign for sure. How are they really going to personalize your fitness program if they don’t know if you have any physical limitations or muscle imbalances?
Your personal fitness program should address any specific areas of concern and not be the same as the client who just worked out before you.

At Shaping Concepts we start all of our personal training programs with a compreshensive consultatiion and fitness assessment to ensure that your fitness routine is not only safe but effective at helping you see the results you desire.
Ask the personal trainer or fitness center to see social proof from the clients they’ve produced results for in the past.
Obviously you wante to see if the program you'll be receiving will actually work. The personal trainer you interview should be able to show several cases of "social proof" from clients they’ve helped in the past either from testimonials or before/after pictures.
If they have little social proof to show you it means either they’re brand new in the field, they're not that serious about what they do, or they're just simply not that effective at delivering results.
We hire ONLY certified personal trainers that demonstrate a commitment to being a professional

You can rest assured if you come into my personal training studio that regardless of the personal trainer you work with, you’ll be in the hands of a highly trained fitness professional.

"I have to admit, I was skeptical at first but the Shaping Concepts personal training program really works. Since I started working my trainer, Andrew Duffy, I've lost 30 pounds, 14 inches, and 7% body fat.
"I started working with a personal trainer at Shaping Concepts because I actually wanted to gain weight and put on lean muscle. I struggled working out on my own and knowing what to eat to put on muscle. With the help of my trainer, Mike Sigmon, I was able to gain 17 pounds while adding two inches to my chest and an inch to both arms.
