Shawn McDonald is a certified Charleston personal trainer and strength & conditioning specialist. Originally from Asheville, NC, Shawn is a masters level personal trainer and fitness expert. We welcome Shawn back to the Shape Con team after taking a few years off to pursue other business interests.

Shawn was instrumental in helping Shaping Concepts grow from a small studio with only 3-4 trainers back in our humble beginnings in 2004 to a staff of over 10 fitness professionals today. Character, work ethic, and a genuine care for others separate him as truly an elite fitness professional and one of the top trainers in Charleston.

“When I initially started a training program my goal was to pass the Navy physical test; I had to lose weight, run 1.5 miles in under 17 minutes and do as many push-ups and sit-ups as I could in 2 minutes. At the time, I was over the weight limit, I could barely finish the run, and I couldn’t do a single “real” push-up.

“I have exercised almost all of my life and staying in shape was always very easy.
