Whey Now Essentials Ideal Post Workout Protein Drink On The Go

As you probably well know post-workout nutrition is one of the most important factors in seeing results from all that hard work you put in the gym.

Getting in a small amount of high-quality whey protein shortly after your workout can have significant benefits in the rebuilding and repair of lean muscle tissue.

I’ve been making this recommendation to personal training clients for quite some time, but realize convenience is a limiting factor for some folks. Not everyone has a protein shake made up in a cooler ready to drink following their workout.

I’ve looked to deliver an option to clients for grabbing a shake when leaving the studio, but just have never found a “ready-to-drink” shake that I felt confident recommending.

The vast majority of ready-to-drink protein shakes have poor quality protein, lots of preservatives, and artificial ingredients. After all, they’re designed to sit on retail shelves for long periods of time.

More after the jump…

At one time I thought about making up protein shakes behind the counter and providing to clients, but then you get into nutri ninja vs nutribullet , sanitation issues, mixing, cleaning up, etc.

The best I could do was recommend clients get a tub of whey protein and make up a shake when they got home or to the office following a workout.

That is until now…

I’m happy to report we’re now carrying “Whey Now Essentials” behind the counter at Shaping Concepts. These are small bottles of whey protein powder that you can simply add in cold water, shake and drink while on the go.

We’ve received the product from Dr. Koniver through his Organic Performance Labs. I’m really excited to be able to offer this to our Charleston personal training clients, not only because of the convenience, but also because it’s one of the best products I’ve seen for post-workout nutrition.

Each bottle contains just the right amount of high quality whey protein without added artificial ingredients, preservatives, and sweeteners.

17 grams of high quality whey protein with digestive enzymes

7 grams of carbohydrate

1 gram of fat

No artificial ingredients, aspartame, yeast, or gluten.

Sweetened with Stevia leaf extract.

One of the things I really love about the formulation is the inclusion of digestive enzymes. This is something you typically don’t see with whey protein powders, but it’s been added for a very important reason.

The addition of digestive enzymes significantly improves the assimilation and bioavailability of whey protein in the body. When consuming whole proteins in part of meal with vegetables and other live foods, this isn’t as much of an issue since live foods contain digestive enzymes.

However, when drinking a protein shake with water, the addition of digestive enzymes can make a big difference in getting the amino acids to the cells where they’re needed.

The plastic bottles used for the product are BPA free which is another big plus.

They taste great, blend well with shaking, and are perfect for getting a whey protein shot prior to eating your post-workout solid meal.

The bottles can be purchased individually for $4 each or $20 for a six-pack.

I highly recommend you try them out if you’re currently not getting in whey protein following your resistance training workouts.
