Secrets Of Eliminating A Bloated Stomach

Women will often see a “pooch belly” as being nothing more than last night’s cheese cake but a bloated stomach can indicate real issues.

Bloating around your stomach may be due to inflammation caused by imbalances in your digestive system. This is quite common especially with women due to a variety of reasons. Bottom line is you’ll find it extremely difficult losing weight and flattening your stomach if your digestive system is not working properly.

Before I explain further check to see if you’ve experienced any of the below symptoms in conjunction with a bloated stomach.

  • A lack of energy and feeling depleted or exhausted
  • Difficulty losing weight
  • Muscle aching or weakness
  • Constipation, diarrhea, or irregularities with elimination
  • A loss of sexual desire, endometriosis or infertility
  • Menstrual irregularity or cramping
  • Frequent anxiety attacks or crying
  • Cold hands, feet and regularly feeling chilly
  • Irritability or frequent shaking when hungry
  • Frequent skin infections or vaginal yeast infections

What causes a bloated stomach or pooch belly?

In order to understand digestive system imbalances we need to briefly talk about good and bad bacteria in your body. Candida albicans is a yeast that normally lives harmlessly in small numbers in your digestive system.

This yeast is controlled by beneficial bacteria in your body (probiotics) and by your immune system. However, if the beneficial bacteria that control the yeast are killed by antibiotics, or if your immune system becomes weakened due to illness or stress, several problems can occur.

Candida overgrowth in the intestines may penetrate the intestinal wall, causing the yeast and other unwanted toxins to result in inflammation. This strains the immune system resulting in fatigue, headache, mood swings, cravings for sweets, and yes bloating!

It’s important to remember that if you want to lose body fat you’ll need to be digesting proteins, carbohydrates and dietary fats properly. Inflammation can hinder optimum assimilation of these nutrients thus affecting your metabolism and making fat loss next to impossible.

Starting steps to eliminate a bloated stomach

If you suffer from a regular bloating stomach I would start by removing all dairy products (except yogurt) and foods that contain yeast or wheat gluten from your diet along with drastically reducing your sugar intake.

I would also recommend removing white vinegar, red wine vinegar, apple cider vinegar, balsamic vinaigrette salad dressings, mayonnaise, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, BBQ sauce, soy sauce, mustard, pickles, green olives, horseradish, mushrooms and beer.

Minimize sugar intake as much as possible and look to consume only high fiber carbohydrates free from wheat gluten and yeast. This would include vegetables, oatmeal, brown rice, sweet potatoes, and Ezekial bread to name a few choices. Remember all fruits are high and sugar and should be consumed in moderation when dealing with digestive system inflammation caused by yeast imbalances.

Keep a food log for a week or so to help identify other trigger foods and seek the counsel of your physician if symptoms persist. You may see an amazing difference in your energy and appearance just by following the above recommendations. For even better results, help reduce stress with daily aerobic exercise and relaxation techniques.

Remember, all the abdominal exercises in the world won’t make a difference unless you take a holistic approach to your overall health and wellness. The secret of a flatter, firmer stomach begins with a healthy digestive system free from imbalances.
