Core Values And Beliefs

In today’s world there seems to be a hesitancy for many individuals and businesses to state their core values and beliefs in an attempt to be “politically correct.”¬†

While some will argue this is the safest and therefore the best approach, I would have to disagree.

I think people¬†for the most part¬†respect those who stand for something, even if they don’t agree on the beliefs.

I’ve been putting off putting together a list of core values and beliefs for¬†some time¬†but finally finished it this morning. While you won’t find anything about politics in my list, what you will find is the underlying beliefs I founded this business on.

It’s my hope this will help to let others know who I am, what I believe in, and what Shaping Concepts stands for. So without further ado here it is…

The Shaping Concepts Core Values & Beliefs

1. We are all about RESULTS period! We believe in our ability to change lives and that is the primary mission statement of our business.

2. We believe in the critical importance of setting specific short and long-term goals. The mind must have a target!

3. We believe in accountability to someone other than yourself as a principal key to success with any change in life.

4. We believe nobody is perfect, nor will they ever be perfect with their diet, exercise or anything else in life. Success is achieved with the commitment to simply pressing forward through the ebbs and tides of life to be the best we can be. Giving up is the only failure!

5. We believe in the principals of hard work, dedication, and focused effort to achieve the goals we set for ourselves. The pursuit of quick-fixes provides no real satisfaction.

6. We believe one must change their mind (thoughts) if they’re to be successful with changing their body. What we are is always a product of our thoughts and resulting actions.

7. We believe in a Primal Blueprint way of eating for weight loss and optimal health. Lean proteins, vegetables, fruits, nuts, seeds, and healthy oils serve as a foundation in our food pyramid. Processed, refined foods and sugar are the enemies!

8. We believe that the BASICS are still the best when it comes to exercise. The ‚Äúold school‚ÄĚ movements that worked fifty years ago to help get people in shape still work today and that‚Äôs what we teach. We are not into fad trends with fitness or nutrition.

9. We believe in the 10 commandments of fitness.

10. We believe there is no substitute for consistency. ‚ÄúLittle and often over the long haul‚ÄĚ is the secret to lasting results and lifestyle changes.

11. We believe in the power of Encouragement and Enthusiasm to inspire people to be their best and push through obstacles.

12. We believe in people helping people. Each one of us reaching up to someone who can help us go where we want to go while simultaneously reaching back to help up someone who is behind us in the same journey.

13. We believe in self-responsibility, integrity, and respect for others at all times. While not everyone will agree with our beliefs, we simply welcome those who do to join us.

Final thoughts…

Whatever your core beliefs and values are whether for business or life in general, I’d encourage¬†you to let them be known and “stand for¬†something.” At the same time,¬†I think it’s always best¬†if we¬†strive to¬†have respect for individuals who may hold¬†different beliefs.

I thank God I live in a country where we still have the freedom to express our beliefs, whatever they may be. That is to be cherised in my book.
